About Ortaca

Ortaca is located in the east of Muğla province. Köyceğiz in the west and north, Dalaman in the east and the Mediterranean in the south. The main highway between Muğla and Fethiye passes through the north of the district. It was formerly a town of Köyceğiz, but in 1987 it became a district.

Dalyan, a natural wonder and world-famous, is a town within the borders of Ortaca district. The district has many important tourist attractions. Ortaca is one of the most beautiful districts of Muğla Province. Ortaca, which is on the border of the Mediterranean and Aegean Region, is at equal distance to İzmir and Antalya. Being in the middle between Fethiye and Marmaris; As the name suggests, it was named Ortaca. Ortaca has a position that includes all of the trade, industry, tourism, agriculture and animal husbandry, natural and historical beauty. In Muğla Province, where 12 districts are affiliated, Ortaca ranks 5th in the category of Commerce and Industry, after Milas, Fethiye, Marmaris and Bodrum.

The literacy rate in our district is one hundred percent and it is a place where social and cultural activities are intense. It has an extremely fertile plain due to its climate and soil structure.

It is 15 minutes from Ortaca city center to reach Sarigerme Beach, Aşı Bay Beach and Iztuzu Beach. In 30 minutes, you can reach the plateaus or the rafting center on the Dalaman Stream. By air to Istanbul, Ankara; anyone can go to İzmir and Antalya in the morning and return to the evening. One of the most distinctive features of Ortaca is; Life in the district is cheap compared to other touristic places. For this reason, people come to Ortaca for shopping from neighboring districts and towns.
